Dear Preschool Parents,
Here is information about our Tiny Tiger Program. The high school class is known as Careers with Children. This is a sequence of classes for the high school students to learn about teaching and working with young children. The high school students must take and pass the prerequisite class, Developmental Psychology of Children, before taking Careers with Children. There is also a screening process with that teacher, with their councilor, and other administrative staff to make sure they are a good candidate for working in Tiny Tigers. We spend the first several weeks learning about lesson planning, developmental stages, safety, emergency procedures, and what they are expected to do as “teachers”. They are the teachers in the Tiny Tiger Program.
We ask for a $60 snack fee for each trimester. The program is run around the high school calendar. Our session runs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:25 am to 11:45 am for the 2017/18 school year and 12:50 pm to 3:00 pm starting the 2018/2019 school year. We also have a graduation at the end of the year for all the preschoolers in celebration of finishing the year. We have a long waiting list, so please be patient. I try to accommodate the older children first so that they have a school setting experience before going off to Kindergarten, while also keeping a balance of ages.
Thank you so much for inquiring about our program. I hope to see your child in our program soon.
